Presentation Overview: This session explores the causes of flange face and galvanic corrosion, and how proper sealing material selection and flange isolation practices can mitigate long-term damage. We’ll examine the limitations of traditional graphite-based gaskets in corrosive environments and introduce alternative sealing materials designed to minimize galvanic potential while maintaining fire safety and chemical compatibility. Real-world field examples and test data will highlight best practices for improving joint integrity across a variety of industrial applications.
